When West Virginians are released from incarceration, they often encounter a lack of resources to help them re-enter society and become productive members of the community. This can lead to re-offending to support themselves.
This bill will address those shortfalls and curb recidivism by creating a program of Re-Entry and Transitional Services. The program will provide access to resources designed to help reintegrate formerly incarcerated persons including education, social skills, self-discipline programs, substance abuse treatment, employment, vocational education and counseling.
